Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
पुरुजित् = हलन्त-लोप → पुरुजित
The form पुरुजित् is written with a final halant (the grammatical/citation spelling); as a borne name the final halant is dropped (पुरुजित), and the English form takes no trailing schwa.

There are also mighty warriors like Dhṛṣṭaketu, Cekitāna and the brave king of Kāśī, along with Purujit, Kuntibhoja and Śaibya, the finest of men.
