Cleaning the mirror of my mind with the dust of my Guru's lotus feet, I tell the pure glory of Raghuvar (Rām), which gives the four great rewards of life.

I bow to Rāma — handsome, the elder of Lakṣmaṇa, best of the Raghus, Sītā's husband; of the Kakutstha line, an ocean of compassion, a treasure of good qualities, dear to the wise, and righteous; a king among kings, true to his word, Daśaratha's son, dark-hued and calm in form; the delight of the world, the crown-jewel of the Raghu family, Rāghava, the foe of Rāvaṇa.
