अक्षर / अक्षरा

Akshara / Aksharaa

Akṣara / Akṣarā · IAST

One without decay (i.e. Bhagwaan).

Boy / GirlMeṣa

Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति

अक्षर = अ (निषेध) + क्षर (क्षय, नाशवान्)

Kṣara means decay; thus akṣara means that which does not decay. If we think for a minute — what is it in the world that doesn't decay? We can see and note that anything finite decays. Life-forms decay; huge buildings and mountains also decay. Even our sun, solar system and galaxy have a lifetime. So what is it that doesn't decay? That must be Bhagwān.
