Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
ब्रह्मन् = नपुंसक प्रथमा → ब्रह्म
ब्रह्म (Brahma) is the neuter nominative of the stem ब्रह्मन् — the impersonal Absolute. The same stem also yields a masculine nominative ब्रह्मा (Brahmā), the creator deity, which is a DIFFERENT name. Neuter ब्रह्म and masculine ब्रह्मा must never be conflated.

ihaiva tair jitaḥ sargo yeṣāṁ sāmye sthitaṁ manaḥ | nirdoṣaṁ hi samaṁ brahma tasmād brahmaṇi te sthitāḥ ||
Even here in this life, those whose minds rest in balance have overcome birth and death; for Brahman is flawless and the same in all, so they are settled in Brahman. (Kṛṣṇa praising an even, equal-minded heart)
