    Let Gandhamādana, the unassailable and powerful vānara resembling an elephant in rut, take charge of the left flank of the army.

    Lomaśa said: 'O son of Kuntī, one can go to Gandhamādana (the mountain) only by asceticism — therefore we shall all practise asceticism.'
