विपश्चित् = हलन्त-लोप → विपश्चित

The form विपश्चित् is written with a final halant (the grammatical/citation spelling); as a borne name the final halant is dropped (विपश्चित), and the English form takes no trailing schwa.

    Śaṅkarācārya: 'The enlightened one (vipaścit) is free from sorrow, dense with bliss, and afraid of nothing in the world. For the seeker of liberation, there is no path to release from worldly bondage other than the direct realization of one's own essential nature.'
