Etymology · व्युत्पत्ति
अदिति = अ (निषेध) + दिति (विभाजन / द्वैत; मूल 'दि' से, जो विभाजित करने या अलग करने का अर्थ रखता है)
a + diti — the prefix 'a' is negation, and 'diti' means separation or duality (it comes from the root 'di' meaning to divide or separate). The literal meaning is undivided or indivisible. Maharṣi Aurobindo defines her as: "Aditi is originally the pure consciousness of infinite existence one and self-luminous; she is the Light that is Mother of all things."
